Technical Brain Wave
We all know that electronics has helped in hundreds of medical applications and been the driving force in the development of some groundbreaking equipment like magnetic resonance imaging and laser surgery. Use It Or Lose It
Cyber thieves must be rubbing their hands with glee at the potential Internet crimes they can perpetrate thanks to data-protection inefficiencies of organisations—data that should be bulletproof against any threat. Indeed, 2008 has been tagged as the year that cyber crime will escalate in the extreme.

The Healing Serpent
Another iTechnology breakthrough has entered our iWorld this month. But this one does not join the ranks of those well-known iWants like the iPod, iMac, and iPhone. All hail the i-Snake, which is not from the Apple stable of innovations.

My Band Is Broader Than Yours
We start the New Year with a classic example of European disunity with three of the European Union’s major members independently starting, or planning, to implement next-generation networks to provide faster broadband services. If not for these members, a cohesive and co-ordinated strategy could be standardised throughout Europe.
