Thanks to the OXUF924DSE’s embedded encryption engine, external storage manufacturers can provide users with the option of reliable data security. By integrating hardwareenabled encryption, Oxford Semiconductor’s SATA storage controller also ensures that high data-transfer speeds stay above the 80Mb/s level.

The controller, which acts as a bridge between dual SATA disks and USB2.0, as well as FireWire400 and FireWire800 ports, offers real-time,128-bit encryption to the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). Supporting secure-token, softwarepassword, and biometric (fingerprint) sensor encryption authentication methods, the chip gives designers the flexibility to create multiple storage products from a single hardware platform.
