In this issue we look at how companies have developed high voltage subscriber line interface circuits (SLICs) which control the ring and voice transmission for broadband access and phone systems. We examine a flyback converter design with a multi-tapped transformer and an inexpensive sequencing circuit implementation to power up the multiple rails in a defined sequence.
