Cambridge, England:
A major picocell supply contract was agreed upon between mobile operator T-Mobile International and ip.access, a developer of inbuilding wireless picocell solutions. Already, T-Mobile deploys nanoGSM, ip.access' picocell-based solution to provide dedicated in-building coverage and extended capacity to customers across GSM networks in Europe.

The picocells use existing IP connections to provide cost-effective backhaul to the core network, while avoiding the disruption to building fabric encountered with antenna-based solutions.

Dr. Klaus-Jürgen Krath, VP of radio access network engineering for T-Mobile International, says "The low-cost nanoGSM infrastructure is an intelligent solution for indoor coverage. ip.access' systems will help us to deliver improved performance and quality to our customers."
